Rainy Day at Work...

Hi lovely readers!
I dont exactly have a great update for you all... I mean, nothing in particular has happened lately! ^_^
Although, I DID GET A NEW CAR! ^__^
The most expensive purchase of my life, but gosh it was worth it!
I've named her Chu ^_^ I'm looking for some cute interiors to fill her up with, but it wont happen until after Japan anyways. Still, I love her so much!

Other than Chu, I've purchased some basic things like makeup and haircare products, as lately with being stressed I realized how much of an effect it has on my appearance. Plus, I wanted to be prepared with beauty supplies for when I go to Japan. I struggle getting anything skin-tone related from Korea or Japan, so I'm stocking up now before I go!
I've also started using face masks twice a week. I hope it will improve my skin, and prevent wrinkles! I dont have particularly bad skin, in fact I'm pretty lucky in only getting tiny pimples when I get hormonal, but prevention is better than a cure especially when it comes to premature aging!
I also grabbed Diamond Lash's nose contour makeup and Candy Doll's lipstick. I realize I could get them in Japan for WAY cheaper, but I needed them now ><; The nose contour is really darn handy- I love finally being able to have a highlighter XD It comes in two shades so I stood staring in the mirror of the shop trying to decide which shade would suit me; luckily a shop assistant spotted me and helped me out! XD I'm still trying to get used to contouring my nose- I discovered I have a funny bump on the side of my nose which looks kinda obvious when I contour, so I need to learn a technique to hide it ><;;
I did a bit of searching and found some hair products that will hopefully strengthen and protect my hair. I plan on getting hair extensions in Tokyo on the day we arrive (yay for long mermaid hair!) so I want my actual hair to be in the best condition! I got GHD's Curl Hold Spray, which will be wonderful for when I have extensions, as it not only has heat protection, hairspray and curl enhancers in it, you spray it on dry hair! YAY! ...I hate blow drying my hair, so letting it dry naturally and being able to still style it to its full potential is awesome! The BedHead 'Superstar Volumising Conditioner' is awesome too because it can be used on dry hair to condition, protect AND add volume, PLUS IT SMELLS LIKE RASPBERRIES! I've been sniffing my hair all day today while at work... haha.

HOWS THIS THOUGH,
according to the lady in the hair shop, I should stop using Moroccan oil (Argon Oil) *__* It was praised for ages as an awesome product, but apparently it has begun to have a negative effect on peoples hair! In fact, I've noticed my hair seems to be getting drier and drier. She told me to have a break from it, and that my hair would improve within a month. How crazy, huh? Too much of a good thing I suppose! XD

Tonight is Neko Nation again, the anime/gaming/geeky themed night club event! I'm super excited! I've got my outfit all organised and I hope it looks good! I'm meeting the girls at Tokyo Hardcore to get ready after work, I always get such a nervous anticipation before it starts! ^_^ However, I didn't bring a camera... well, I dont have a good camera to use (I purchased one from my sister- which was crap- and my old one is dying!) so I hope that someone I know brings one so I can camera whore! BWHAHA!

Oh also, if you haven't already, please have a look at my Lens Review blog!

I've uploaded two new reviews and did some makeup to show them off! XD

Cafe Mimi Review- Cappuccino Brown and Grey!

I got to try out the new Cafe Mimi series! :D
 Such a cute design!

First, the Brown lenses! ^__^
 The design is lost in my eyes sadly ><;
 Full face, without makeup
 ...and some gyaru makeup! :D
I went for simple PopTeen style makeup this time.
Comfort: 9/10
Size: 9/10
Colour: 6/10
These are my first ever pair of brown lenses! To be honest I was surprised at how dark they appeared in my eyes, they look almost black, but in the flash they look rather natural :) I'm not a huge fan of darker lenses but these were a nice change! The design gets lost, though unfortunately. The comfort and size are perfect again- I haven't had any trouble with them getting sore or dry yet! :D

And now the Grey lenses! ^_^

 Full face
And for a big comparison, I went with over-the-top sweet lolita makeup! ^_^

"FUUUUU"

Comfort: 9/10
Size: 9/10

Colour: 4/10
Although these lenses are the perfect size and extremely comfortable, I was disappointed in the colour! Like the brown ones, these are very dark and lose the pretty design. I prefer my grey lenses to be a little lighter as the blend better to my natural eye colour. They make a big difference to the look of my makeup! ^_^

March Inspiration!

Although it is autumn down here in Australia, we are lucky enough to have pretty mild weather similar to the Northern hemispheres spring! Even though the days get a little shorter and the trees start losing their leaves, its still warm enough to indulge in the awesome fashions released overseas ^_^
Because of my latest slump, I figured sharing some inspirational pictures might help!
(PS, I'm at work so I cant post as many as I would like! lol!)
Japan, fashion, gyaru, lolita... anything that makes me happy and makes me think of spring! ^_^ I hope you enjoy! <3

And finally, a sneak peek at Angelic Pretty's new (?) print! :D
Pinstripes, very cute!! ^_^

SLUMP

Hiya lovelies!
So, the countdown begins! 62 days until I leave for Japan! GAH THE WAIT IS KILLING ME!

However, I have a problem!
Since January, I have cut back on buying new things. Its actually been really hard! Anything I have purchased has been on sale or the only purchase for a long time XD I've avoided searching sites/magazines to restrain the temptation, but I still sneak a peek! But strangely enough, its effected the way I feel about my current wardrobe. *__* Suddenly I hate everything I own!! But on top of that, I cant seem to see what is missing/what I would rather have.
To be frank: I am in a fashion slump. Probably the biggest fashion slump I have ever had!! I've tried mixing my old clothes with newer pieces, and although it is on-trend, I am still not satisfied with how I look. Only in lolita do I feel ok, but thats because coordinating in loli is super easy for me (match colours/accessories/etc). Usually western fashion comes easy to me too- gyaru I constantly have to work on- but lately neither are 'flowing' in my wardrobe!

What do you suggest to come out of this slump? I am TERRIFIED I'll get to Japan and not know what I want/what suits me and wont buy ANYTHING out of pure stress that I'll never wear it XD or, I'll go the other way and buy TOO much and never wear any of it!
First world problems, eh? haha.

I think its also a body issue at the moment, too. Dont get me wrong, I am so happy to be healthy and have all my limbs! But I tend to judge myself too harshly- I hate my thighs, stomach, arms, hip-size, etc. I see so many Liz Lisa clothes that I LOVE and want to wear, but in the back of my mind I go "it'll be too short so it'll show off my thighs and I'll have to wear shorts underneath," or "my boobs/hips are too big so it'll distort the dress/top and wont look as nice." ><; Its rather self-esteem diminishing. So when I look at pictures of shop staff/stores in 109 I immediately assume I would look bad in what they are wearing. IT'S SO WEIRD THAT I'VE JUST STARTED WORRYING ABOUT THIS. Maybe I'm just paranoid about being a fat-unfashionable gaijin. ><;

SOOOO I'm in a fashion slump- I need a way out quick!! Or at least before I fly off to Japan! ANY IDEAS?!

On a completely unrelated note, I have started another blog for Contact Lens reviews! I've been sponsored by Adelaide Little Lens Shop to be one of their models! :D I'll try to keep it regularly updated, at least once a week, with lens and other makeup reviews!

I'll also put it on the side bar here ^_^ I'm in no way a make-up expert, but I will give my best honest opinion on products that I review! ^_^

Princess Mimi Lens Review- Apple Green and Sesame Grey

Hello everyone! This is my first review! :D

Lets start off with the very basic (but obvious) disclaimer:  you only have one set of eyes, so please take care when using lenses! Make sure they are clean and not expired, and only wash them with proper lens solution. I recommend buying lens-friendly eye drops to keep your eyes moist if you are wearing lenses for a long period of time. And if you are ever in doubt, ask your Optometrist!

OK, on to the review!!
(At this point I would like to apologise for the horrible lighting... my camera isn't the best and I was working with fading light! I hope you can still get a good idea of these lenses though. ^_^)

*Princess Mimi in Apple Green*
Oh Tsubasa, I could never hope to be as beautiful as you! XD

I really like the colour of these lenses! On my grey eyes they really stand out- however they would be best for cosplays and such as they don't look as natural and its pretty obvious I'm wearing them! ^_^

Full face with out make up. (blurry...)
I'm a big fan of the black ring around the outer edge- it really makes them pop!

With make up. Being a ninny. XD
With make up. I tried a green eye-make style but unfortunately the flash washes it out!

Verdict:

Comfort: 8/10
Size: 9/10
Colour: 7/10
These lenses are pretty popular in Japan at the moment, and I can see why! I myself am a big fan of them! I have worn them for a good 6-7 hours without my eyes drying out (and my eyes are great at drying out! haha!) even in hot weather. I can put them in and totally forget about them. Their size is perfect for my eyes- they look natural but still give the dolly effect; if they were any smaller I'd personally never wear them! The only downside is the colour, as its just too bright in grey eyes to look natural.

*Princess Mimi in Sesame Grey*
I wish they were as silver as this photograph! Darn photoshop! XD

Sesame Grey= so perfect in my eyes!!

Without make up- looking confused? ><;

I went for extreme gyaru make this time!
In my kitchen. Like a boss.

Sesame Grey, I salute you!!

Verdict:

Comfort: 8/10
Size: 9/10
Colour: 10/10
Without doubt- these are my favourite lenses at the moment! Comfort is great, size is perfect and COLOUR IS PERFECT! I cannot believe how well it moulds with grey eyes! XD I've actually had trouble in the past finding grey lenses that blended well but still gave a beautiful effect. Well, not any more! XD I've worn these A LOT, through long days and nights! I really recommend them!
